You already have the best business idea, but are you ready to present it to investors? Careful preparation is the key to success, especially when it comes to this kind of presentation. You only have one chance and you must use it in every possible way, no matter how good your idea seems. It wasn’t our intention to make you nervous, but to help you in finding the right approach and influence your chances in front of investors. Read our advice: 1. Less is always more. Pitch is always the most important. Long presentations and explanations will not impress investors, on the contrary. Present your idea in a short but sweet way. :) Be specific. Investors must be convinced that your idea will attract clients. If it’s not appealing to investors, nor will it be to clients. 2. Never make assumptions. Know your facts, make no assumptions. Be prepared, make your research in advance. Most investors are looking for a low-risk business with managers who know how to prepare and to come closest to what they promised. Before you seek an investment, explore the market and prepare a financial plan. 3. Be realistic. It’s ok to intrigue investor about the bigger picture, but you have to keep a realistic view. Investors will not take you seriously if you present a meaningless financial graph with revenue growth of your company from 1 000 to 50 million KM in three years. Show them three scenarios - the best, the most realistic and the worst. 4. Rome wasn't built in a day, neither will your company. Investors usually avoid teams that claim to do more than it is possible. Before you ask for an investment, you must point out the ways of making, managing and accomplishing requests. Prove that your company can “crawl” before it learns how to “walk”. 5. Don’t act like the smartest person in a room Know what you know, but also what you don’t know, and then find people who know what you don’t. It’s important to build a team of experts. The smartest entrepreneurs in the world are surrounded by people smarter than themselves. Now you know what it takes to become part of SPARK. We’re waiting for your ideas.
