Promotion of the “Play, Learn and Earn” Startup Game Held
Promotion of the “Play, Learn and Earn” startup game has been held on Friday. The idea of the new SPARK game has encouraged a lot of startups and startup accelerators to attend an event. Like we said recently, we have decided to gamify the process of startup acceleration and came up with a startup game “Play, Learn and Earn”. The game is designed for startups, but also for startups accelerators. Startups learn about the business world in a fun way, run their own company and compete with other startups, while startups accelerators easily track the progress of all startups. Through the game, startups get a certain amount of virtual money they spend on their startup acceleration. Any activity that has a real-world value exists in a game (e.g. renting space and equipment, mentoring, education, startup conferences and the like). If startups do their tasks with quality and timely, they will be rewarded with a bonus virtual money. Conversely, the money will be taken away. We came up with this kind of idea so we can help youngsters to develop a positive competitive spirit, but also to give them a chance to understand the financial elements of the business environment better, through virtual SPARKoins. We are more than satisfied with the fact that introduction of this novelty has made a big impact, which can be confirmed by positive reactions of event attendees. We truly hope that this concept will enable a quality insight to owning a business, but also build up better constructive relationships between startups and startup accelerators. So far, we only have a prototype of the game that will be tested at SPARK and Acorn Aspirations. After that, we are going to develop a final product based on cryptocurrencies. The game was presented by the director of SPARK, Sanjin Osmanbašić. Partners of the Digital Cities project, representatives of the British Council, and experts Elena Sinel (Acorn Aspirations) and Petar Savić (Supreme Factory) also presented themselves at the event. Last week, Elena and Petar held 1on1 mentoring sessions with six SPARK startups and two workshops on Design thinking and Digital marketing for startups. Elena also participated in Fireside Chat as part of the event along with Ivona Ćorić (SPARK), where they compared the startup scene in BiH and the UK. If you want to have a look at the demo version of the game, head to our web page, and if you want to use the game in your accelerator/incubator, contacts us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
