ABOUT PROJECT The SPARKreatorice project is organized by the Hello World Association (SPARK school) sponsored by the US Embassy in Sarajevo. The aim of the project is to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) among elementary school girls. Only 459 female students participated in the SPARKreators League (competition in robotics for elementary school students), out of a total of 1589 participants, which is only 28.8%. The question is why so few female students are interested in robotics, automation, and programming, although these professions are today most sought after. The SPARreatorice project includes 20 elementary schools from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Each school should apply with 10 female students who will participate in education and competition throughout school years 2017/2018 and 2018/2019. The Association will donate 200 mBot educational robots (one for each female student) to be used for gaining knowledge in the field of information technology and robotics. The two best female students from each school will participate in the state competition, to be held on 5 October 2018 at SPARK premises. HOW TO APPLY? Applications are currently closed.
